THE VISION FOR A NORTH CAROLINA
INTEGRATIVE/COMPLEMETARY/ALTERNATIVE CARE
MEDICAL CLINIC
America
has undisputedly the best acute care medicine in the world. However,
we are apparently way behind several other countries in our approach
to chronic disease. There are many therapies touted to mitigate
or even cure even the most critical of diseases. As close as Mexico
and Canada, there are several clinics that promote alternatives
to American medicine and many are "reporting" remarkable
and positive results. However, the America Medical Association and
related groups view ANYTHING other than double blind studies (DBS)
as suspect. And yet, for one of the most devastating diseases -
Cancer, it is believed that there have been absolutely no DBS for
chemotherapy or radiation. Chemotherapy for example is only compared,
one chemo protocol to another. Over the last several years since
our President announced a "war on cancer" billions of
dollars have been spent in research. Yet, the incidence of most
cancers is on the rise … and little result has been shown in
actually curing this insidious disease. Admittedly, the medical
institutions have reported, "increases in life expectancy"…
but statistic's show that this is primarily due to earlier diagnosis,
which in reality only prolongs the amount of time "they"
can offer treatment.
In
the last few years a shift has been seen in the way the traditional
medical community views other modalities. The Duke School of Medicine
in Durham, NC has started a school for "Alternative Medicine".
In January 2000, Bowman Grey School of Medicine in Winston-Salem,
NC announced a grant to study "Alternative Medicine".
The National Institute of Health (NIH) now has a Complementary and
Alternative Medicine (CAM) division, which is conducting its own
research. Also, several therapies have been recently accepted in
NC and several other states - such as BioOxidative Therapy BioMagnetic
Therapy, and Chelation Therapy - and are being offered right now.
We believe that the climate is right for the building of a clinic
that will offer many of the therapies that have been kept from American
Citizens!
Our
vision is to build such a clinic. This clinic will be unlike anything
we know of today! The goal is to build it completely debt free -
so that the fixed costs will not have to be amortized in patient
billings. Much like "Patch Adams" clinic in West Virginia,
we believe that there are hundreds of Physicians (MD's - DO's -
etc) that would be drawn to this clinic. (We understand that Dr.
Adams has a waiting list of some 2000 physicians wanting to come
to his clinic). These would be some of the best physicians in the
country - maybe the world. Coming because they are disillusioned
with a health care system that often does not explore and does not
offer ALL alternatives. A system that is funded by sickness, and
ultimately suffers financially from "Wellness"! A system
absolutely controlled by the pharmaceutical industry.
Our
plan is to establish a trust fund that will supplement a patient's
normal 80/20 insurance programs and make the treatments affordable
to more people. It is believed those that will benefit from the
treatments and can afford it, will make contributions to the clinic
over and beyond their own costs. Thus, adding to the fund that will
be available to make the treatments affordable. Obviously, there
will have to be mostly altruistic funds, at least at the outset,
to make this work. Again, it is believed that there are enough people
that have been impacted by a spouse - other family member or friend's
frustrating experience with the present system to keep the clinic
operating effectively and on the cutting edge.

Lastly,
as a world-class facility, the clinic will create such overwhelming
documentation that the truth will be available to all. By that we
mean the clinic not only exists to help people, but to uncover the
truth about the various therapies. Clinical data properly and scientifically
developed with integrity will lay to rest once and for all any questions
about the effectiveness of these therapies. We are not about having
an ego attached to ANY modality. It will be the clinic's goal to
uncover the bad with the good. With no ego attached - we can and
will refute those therapies that are not effective. Also, with nothing
to gain except patient wellness - we will have the ability to gain
synergy from complimenting therapies. This is in total contrast
to the vast pharmaceutical industry, which labors (apparently) primarily
if not only, for, patentable, and therefore profit producing drugs!
Within a few short years, the data developed here can be used to
duplicate this effort in any place in the US or the world! The entire
medical system will benefit, but even more important, many people
will avoid the suffering and pain our current system permits!
Our
funding appeal is to two groups. First, those who have the personal
funds available that would be attracted to the opportunity to leave
a legacy. And second, those who have had a life companionship cut
short - a son or daughter taken - or watched a friend die in pain.
Obviously, one could be in both of these groups! We believe that
too many have already been sacrificed! There are alternatives that
are working! We challenge all that read this to join in the quest
to reduce the unnecessary suffering and deaths!
A
